Print a work order
Download the one-page work order sheet to hand to a technician, and what it does and does not contain.
In a workshop a job is often handed over on paper. The Print button on a work order produces a single A4 sheet that tells a technician what to do, on which machine, and what must be in place before they start.
Before you start
- You need Work Orders: View. Anyone who can open the work order can print it.
Print the sheet
- Open the work order.
- Click Print in the header.
- Solmex downloads a PDF named after the work order number. Open it and print it.
Times on the sheet are shown in your own computer's time zone.
What is on the sheet

| Heading | Your company, the work order number, its priority, status and type, and a QR code that opens the work order in Solmex. |
| Four facts | Machine (with its model and Sublocation), Assigned to, Scheduled (with the date it was raised) and the machine's meter reading. |
| Before work begins | Only when something should stop work starting: a work permit that is missing or not yet approved, or a blocker. Each line says what is missing and what must happen first. |
| Description | What needs doing. |
| Photos | The photos of the problem, directly under the description. |
| Source | Where the job came from, such as a breakdown, with its details. |
| Permit | The work permit, or that one is required and none has been raised, or that none is required. To print the permit itself, see Permit documents, printing and QR codes. |

The sheet is always one page. With more photos, each photo is printed smaller.
What is deliberately not on it
The sheet has no blank lines for writing up the work, no parts table, no signature boxes and no hours. It has no costs either.
Rules worth knowing
- A permit that is still a draft or awaiting approval is not treated as cover. It is listed, with the warning above the description.
- A machine with no meter shows that no meter is fitted, rather than an empty box.
- Printing is recorded in your company's audit log.
Troubleshooting

| "Could not produce the work order PDF." | Reload the page and click Print again. |
| A photo box says "Photo on record, but its file could not be read." | The photo is in a format the printer cannot use. It is still on the work order in Solmex. |
| No QR code on the sheet | Solmex could not work out your company's address. The rest of the sheet is complete. |
